520 |a This special issue titled "Advances in Biomedical Sensing, Measurements, Instrumentation and Systems" in the book series of "Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering" contains the invited papers from renowned experts working in the field. A total of 19 chapters have described the advancement in the area of biomedical sensing, instrumentation and measurement methods and system in recent times. This special issue has focused on the recent advancements of the different aspects of sensing technology, i.e. information processing, adaptability, recalibration, data fusion, validation, high reliability and integration of novel and high performance sensors in the area of biomedical field. The book is not a rough collection of contributions; instead, it offers an inside view of the topics, that is, a coherent vision in the foreseen area. Advances in technological devices unveil new architectures for instrumentation and improvements in measurement techniques. Sensing technology, related to biomedical aspects, plays a key role in nowadays' applications; it promotes different advantages for: healthcare, solving difficulties for elderly persons, clinical analysis, microbiological characterizations, signal processing, smart algorithms, augmented reality for new frontiers in surgery issues, use of EEG signals for late onset epilepsy, sensing system for breathing investigation, etc.. This book intends to illustrate and to collect recent advances in biomedical measurements and sensing instrumentation, not as an encyclopedia but as cleaver support for scientists, students and researchers in other to stimulate exchange and discussions for further developments.
