A major emphasis of the collection is the relationship between Locke and seventeenth-century philosophers, Descartes, Hobbes, Cudworth, Bayle, Malebranche and Leibniz. The coverage of Locke's legacy extends to into the eighteenth-century legacy as far as Rousseau and Kant.
