Jesse Williams Cheesemaker /

Commercial cheesemaking and associated dairying is forever linked with the name of Jesse Williams, a skillful farmer and chhsemaker of Rome, N. Y. On May 10, 1851, he established the first cheese factory in the United States, the first in which milk from the cow was convert directly into cheese.
